Our approach is based on a whole person-centered wellness program. ERT helps elders and everyone to take a more inclusive, fun and pro-active role in their wellness and healing. I believe that our elders and everyone who takes a closer look at and adopts some of the systematic and planned interventions, will experience meaningful and positive changes in their quality of life. The interventions are designed and tested in the practice of "Clinical Therapeutic Recreation For Elders" , a profession that did not exist prior to my work with ERT. ERT clinical interventions and programs are designed to better communities and individuals. These interventions nurture communities of place and facilitate communities of interest to better; cognitive conditional responses, social integration, self-esteem, self-eficacy, psychosocial adaptation, motor coordination, healthier brains, multiplication of new brain cells and connections, physical activity and awareness of their bodies, perception and sensory stimulation, nurture the spiritual body and minds. This meaningful concept can be adopted by everyone who wants to enjoy a better health. I have tested it with elders in institutional settings; Independent Living, Assisted Living, Long-Term-Care Settings, Group Homes, Dementia-Alzheimer's Units and Community Centers with elder programs. ERT provides and hopes to inspire education, guidance, support and better ways to; deliver services for elders, listen to elders and other community members about what their bodies, minds and spirits are communicating. ERT is also about the use of the "Journal For A Better Life" that each individual develops. This is a wonderful way of making gradual better lifestyle changes taking into account individual wellness and health issues. ERT and BWCA, Better World Community Adventures are very important components of the services that WEL, World Elder Land provides. Everyone is invited to co-create together a better world where elders are better cared for and actively included as valuable members of our communities. As one of our elders recently said during a talk about happiness and its relation to health, "It is foolish not to be happy." ERT better ways is an invitation to nurture and share a happy, meaningful and inclusive world for our elders and everyone, including animals and nature. |
